Yesterday I saw Alien:Covenant.

"The crew of a colony ship, bound for a remote planet, discover an uncharted paradise with a threat beyond their imagination, and must attempt a harrowing escape."

The movie was very good, far better than I expected, I have seen all of the other Alien movies and Prometheus (watch this again before you watch Alien:Covenant, I'd forgotten most of it) and it was one of the best.

In fact I thought the film stood well as a stand alone movie, You don't need to have seen the previous films to enjoy it.

What I didn't enjoy was the actual movie experience, The film was supposed to start at 7:50pm. There was at least 25 mins of adverts, bad adverts as well, mainly for internet and 3G/4G phone data. This was followed by only 2 trailers for movies that I can't even remember, some more adverts for Coke and Popcorn, a Car advert for the surround sound and then finally the movie started.

All I kept thinking as I looked around the empty cinema, with 95% of the seats free was how annoying being forced to watch adverts was and how much more I would enjoy watching this at home or at one of my customers home cinemas.  Walk in press a button, choose a movie and sit back and enjoy, pause it whenever you want, no adverts.

So in Summary: Good movie, see it but either turn up after the adverts or watch it in your own home cinema for the best experience, unless you like adverts, boring adverts.
