All-In-One Remotes
We just took delivery here in Phuket of some Harmony Elite all-in-one remote controls for a few of our installs.
These universal remote controls can be useful in a smart home if you don’t already have a control system in-place. If you already have a Control4 System to control your home then a Neeo remote would be ideal and would fit in with the Control4 ecosystem - giving you access to all your automation, lighting and music systems.
So - What exactly is an all-in-one remote?
It is a remote control that replaces all of your current remote controls for that area, for example a living room might have separate remote controls for the TV, Blue Ray player, AppleTV, Soundbar or surround system and AndroidTV. An all-in-one or Universal remote takes the place of all these remotes, controlling each piece of equipment, so you can relegate your old remote controls to a cupboard.
How does it work?
You program the remote with the information of what your setup consists of so for example your TV model number, Bluray Player etc… including which HDMI port is used by the equipment and where the sound comes from (TV, Soundbar or Surround Sound System). It can then issue commands to each piece of equipment and you set up Activities such as “Watch TV” , “Watch BluRay”, “Watch AppleTV”, “Watch Netflix” and so on. Then simply press the one button and it switches all the equipment on (or off) and to the right inputs.
What can an all-in-one remote do?
Turn on relevant equipment and switch TV source at the touch of a button.
Allow control of basic lighting scenes.
Give you access to equipment specific buttons depending on activity selected.
Turn off all your equipment with a single button press.
Basically the purpose of an all-in-one remote is to declutter your remotes, replace them all with one remote control that can at single button push turn on all the equipment, select the right source, channels and turn it all off once you’ve finished, easily.

If you already have a Control4 powered Smart Home then the Neeo remote will even integrate into every aspect, close your curtains, turn on/off the air-con and even dim the lights.
